The Minutemen landed a Golden Gig in Santa Maria California as a result of their appearances at Pandora's Box in Hollywood California. Jim Horton and his family were visiting Los Angleles and Pandora's box was hot on their list of places to see. It happened to be a weekend we were playing and after their third visit that weekend we were signed to play in their Teen Club called JJ's. We would play on Friday and Saturday nights for 10 straight weekends over the Summer School break. I am not sure what we expected but it was just massive and featured a big stage with a great sound system and lighting. I look back on those two years of playing at JJ's as some of the best fun I had in the music business. One weekend Fred Bonamici and his family came up from Los Angeles to hear us play. He had just purchased a Bell and Howell Super 8MM Camera and captured this fantastic video of us playing our best record. Fred was president of our recording company, Keltone Records. This is I Won't Be Taken and a really wonderful capture of some music history.

We played another engagement in Los Angeles for one of Fred's daughter's birthday parties. This is the only video which as surfaced from that event — but what a great video. Where were the iPhones when you needed them. This is our cover of the Kingsmen's Louie, Louie
